Pears of Wonder (ovo) - Countdown to Stormblood - 8 Days
See you soon in Stormblood, friends! This time, straight from the realm where @notsocalmriver has become a (crazy?) cat lady. With her, Ahleen Burwani ( @thebookofireine ), @gridaniancoeurl and yours truly.
"Are you sure you don't mean 'Zahyu'ra YES'?" [gridaniancoeurl]
“… Depends on the context. In the case in point, however, I’m fairly certain it’s ‘Zahyu’ra, NO’.”
Creatures of the Night
Back when the world was simple enough to be divided between females, Tias and the Nuhn, P'ahro had already a vague notion of who the others were. Those who, for reasons beyond his understanding, would forsake Azeyema's warm embrace, hiding in the depths of night. For his young mind, which knew nothing but questions, certainties and the further questions the latter would bring about, the mere idea of living in the darkness only spoke against that distant branch of their kin. How can you trust one who avoids the light?
As years went by, however, more than once he found himself wondering if the harsh sunlight wasn't blinding most of his tribe. Perhaps even a fair share of those who took pride in seeking the Sun.
Cursed by some, ignored by most and still blessed by the Warden above – or so he would rather believe –, the Miqo'te left his people, the desert which he had called home for most of his life, and embraced the world. The hardships he had faced so far made travelling quite easy, if not for one detail: strangers. Always wary and reticent, he would choose to face every new road and town under daylight; as one of Azeyema's children, he could only expect her light to shine upon his path, ridding it from whatever menaces that could lurk in the dark.
And still, with the right company, he came to learn that Menphina's face could shine rather brightly, all things considered. Or maybe he had been growing used to the darkness – whether the world's or his own, it was hard to tell. While still suspicious of most creatures of the night, he trained his eyes to see better when the Moon was the brightest. Defying his childhood fears and all the prejudice and misconceptions that came with them.
It did not take long for him to acknowledge the Lover deserved some respect. However much he missed Azeyema's warm touch, the silver glow with which Menphina blessed her children – no, her child – was more mesmerizing than all the gold in his eyes.
