Steven Universe: Grieve AU - Pre Blue Diamond & "Casual" Post Blue Diamond

Steven, now trapped in Homeworld, is a drained shell of what he used to be. He is being fed much less but early deterioration is unnoticed due to his human side wanting to hold onto as much energy possible. Blue has blurred the lines between reality and mania, coddling and hovering around Steven when anxiety spikes (which proves to be quite often.) In her mix of relief and hysteria, Blue Diamond is convinced that Steven is his mother. No outside influence is letting him go easily. Steven is exhausted by the way Blue's temperament constantly changes from coddling to furiously convinced he's hiding something from her.

He begins to make bonds with Blue’s Pearl though. Morbidly enough, their shared emotional exhaustion and trauma get them closer. Yet Blue Pearl can’t help but slink away when Blue begins to lose it again. Steven can’t blame her.

Yellow has been far from Steven sight, yet when he can catch glimpses of the diamond, she always seems on edge. Almost afraid of Blue.
