Overwatch+Ghibli - Mei
Is Overwatch still cool? :D I've seen plenty of Overwatch/Ghibli inspired art, but not of the OW characters in a Ghibli style, so I thought I'd blaze that path. I'm planning on doing all current characters, but I don't have a schedule in mind for them, so keep an eye out!
Tracer from Overwatch done in a Studio Ghibli style. Last picture for the year. :D Cheers, luv!
I've been looking at some Disney art, and I love how the animators capture flow and motion by exaggerating the gesture. Decided to give it a shot by using some fencing poses as reference. I think I need to exaggerate a bit more. What do you guys think? Reference!
Look upon me Equestria, for I am Rarity!
I found your weblog while browsing DeviantArt. Hello! I'm an illustrator and writer in training myself.
Hello to you as well. :) Thanks for dropping by!
I hope you find my work to your liking. If you ever need any advice, feel free to ask.
Good luck!

Dude, how did you do the carving on the katana? What kinda wood did you use? What about tools? How is babby formed? HOW!?
I used a really large, wide rasp file from the hardware store and sanded it to shape by hand. It was a pain in the ass and took over 5 hours of work. Afterwards, I sanded it with 100 grit sandpaper, then 400 grit, both on a sanding block for ease of use and consistency while sanding. I coated it a few times in a dark primer, then gloss paint before the silver. Silver looks more like metal when a dark, glossy smooth base is used. The wood was recommended to be pine, but Home Depot didn’t have it, so the guy recommended whatever it was I used, which he said was very similar but slightly harder than pine.
I actually masked off part of the blade and just painted the hamon and….it was a bust. I tested it on another surface and the transparent black paint didn’t have any effect over the silver. However, when I sprayed it on the sword, it turned the silver to gray, which can happen often. So, I just sprayed the entire damn thing over with silver again. The paint is noticeably thicker this time but I overcoated it to get a nice surface. I can see my reflection in it, no joke =D Just wish I hadn’t painted the hamon, but it takes fingerprints and rubs off the paint VERY easily, so it’ll be a “please don’t touch my sword or I’ll fucking cut you” type of thing XD
I THINK YOU KNOW HOW BABBY IS FORMED, JOE. GOD!
