The Castle Atop The Hill
Griffith - Berserk
Disclaimer: Sensitive talk ahead.
Sometimes I think about the fact Casca was already pregnant during the Eclipse and it makes me want to get 5000% more violent against Griffith each time I do. And what makes it even worse she was so early in the pregnancy and the evils that happened to her corrupted the fetus and made her give birth not that long afterward the worst trauma imaginable. She didn't even get enough time to find out she was pregnant in the first place her and Guts were going to have a child together. She didn't get the time to develop feelings and opinions on being pregnant and how it'd change her life. It happens so suddenly then the baby is there in her arms - Guts is also going through it and processing and dealing with the horrors and the unsaid implications (Until the Skull Knight outright confirms them) and what he feels like he has to do given the baby's clear demon appearance and Casca not wanting him to and the situation being so heart breakingly fucked up - then the baby just disappears. Out of her arms. Gone. All of this happening in a span of minutes. Motherhood suddenly placed upon her and then immediately taken away.
It makes me so ill and its so tragic and it's all fucking Griffith's fault.
Berserk has a history of depicting victims killing their abusers and because of that I've long theorized its going ultimately be Casca to kill Griffith (or at least deliver the finishing blow) and I can't wait to see the day when it hopefully happens. Griffith is a character I really like as a character/as a villain but I feel in my personal opinion to be a Griffith fan and not one of those "Griffith did nothing wrong" people is his impending demise and ultimate fall is something you got to look forward to in this story the most, like absolutely let Guts go ham beating his ass but I feel it would be the best justice for it to be Casca to be the one to end it.
He was her savior, she fought for anything to be his sword and he constantly looked away until he finally sought her nothing but as a ""prize"" a tool to break and hang over Guts and breaks every ounce trust and loyal she had in him - and for what? Just of out selfish spite because Guts in his view was the one to ruin his life, not his own self destructive actions, and Guts truly loved Casca and saw her as an actual person not an object to point at and go to war for you. Griffith used that against him without second thought, disregarded Casca as person entirely, and threw away every member of his army so loyal and so caring about him they'd do anything for him lives away. To prove a ""point."" To chase a ""dream.""
She was lost afterward, but slowly and slowly she finds herself again, changed obviously but finds herself and processes her trauma, but she is a sword - just not for Griffith, but for herself - and I'd think it'd be poetic if that same sword he took for granted and advantage of is what puts a stop to him in the end.
And after that I truly hope her and Guts can finally live their lives together.
I want to talk about the nuances of Berserk I just beg people be civil if/when responding please 🙏

Oh Dear...
Looks The Scarlet Bullet could become the equivalent of an AU fic if Yoshihide Suga don’t get his shit together.
Guts is by far one of the most human characters I have ever had the pleasure of being introduced to, I went from disliking his brutish behavior to completely understanding and justifying it to others in light of the golden age arc. Berserk is so beautifully written and has envoked strong emotions in me that real life hasn’t been able to do in years. It’s very cliche to say that it changed my life, but it did, it helped me realize I need to let go of all my unnecessary anger and stop self loathing and self isolating and instead open myself up to both my own emotions and those people around me.
Words as Weapons (Seether) + Guts (Berserk) Character study
Guts > Griffith
(This is so old I forgot I even drew it)
Guts has a lot of wolf symbolism because he is the goodest boy.
