i feel you. if its a two person seat, take the outer one until it’s absolutely necessary to scoot over, or block it with your purse or backpack until you have to give it up to someone else

Yeah usually that’s what I do but on some days it’s just not automatic for me to do. I always have a bag or a purse on the seat next to me yet that still doesn’t stop them unfortunately. (Also there’s no one-person seats on our buses)

I get the feeling that I’ll end up going on a aimless roadtrip with my girlfriend some day. Or perhaps a trip across the world in general.

the dream, tbh

It's funny, because I used to think of myself as a smalltown homebody. But one I got a car and spent actual time in the city I slowly began to realize that I just feel so much better when I can just up and go place and walk around some kind of downtown square on my lunch break and sit and read in upscale coffee shops and shitty diners at all hours.

Really think I'm gonna have to move to a town with a t stop at the very least, here, and soon.

The bias against genre fiction is so pervasive that in my college writing courses we were not ALLOWED to bring anything but realistic fiction to workshop.

Uuuuugh, I am not even slightly surprised. I guess I just wasn't expecting that treatment to persist in a work written by a librarian, for librarians? We're supposed to be less weirdly judgmental than that.
