plot twist
I’m a miserable twerp at the moment, but I managed to wrangle this into being over the last few days. The song that sparked the idea is Plot Twist by Marc E. Bassy.
It wasn’t often that Chloe got home late from the clinic. She usually had a set 9-5, but today had been a field call to the zoo for their three-monthly checkups. It had been a long day. A seven am start and now she was walking through the door at half past six, with aching arches and a wombat bite to the left boob.
She could hear Beca singing loudly in the kitchen.as she unlocked the front door and let herself in.
Kara in a suit, who goes to gala with Lena...Lena has a gay panic attack
Gay Lena is the best Lena….
“Tell me again why I’m helping you into a suit for this gala?”
“Because she’s whipped…”
Kara rolled her eyes at Alex, before glancing down at Winn who was rehemming her pants,
“Because Lena invited me and it’s black tie.”
Winn snorted, “You could wear a dress…?”
“Any dress I could possibly afford to wear would look ridiculous next to Lena. At least in a suit, no one will compare us.”
Alex tossed a balled up napkin from the couch, “No, because they’ll be too busy watching Lena die from gayness…”
“We’re just friends… She’s not even… Just stop.”
Alex was right. Kara had barely opened the door when Lena’s face had turned suspiciously blank. It was reminiscent of the look that she wore in the boardroom when faced with a particularly tough crowd. It was then that Kara noticed the erratic beating of Lena’s heart. She was panicking. Alex was actually right.
“You look incredible, Lena.”
Kara watched Lena’s cheeks heat up, confirming her suspicions, “Thank you, Kara… You… You’re also…”
Lena could barely string a sentence together. Maybe the suit was too much, “Ugh, I should have gone with the dress…”
“No!” It was quick, almost too fast. Lena must have noticed too because she added, “Its… The suit is incredible. You look amazing… I’m sorry. I just wasn’t expecting…”
Kara smirked as Lena’s eyes roved over the front of the suit. “Okay, if you’re sure…”
“I’m sure… very sure…” There was that pretty blush again.
Alex was definitely right, and Kara wasn’t sure whether Lena would survive the night.
Ooh! Alex giving Lena the Shovel Talk!
I love Alex and Lena so much!
Lena had barely walked out of a meeting with her PR team when she noticed Jess fuming behind her desk. She raised an eyebrow at her assistant who spoke from behind a tight smile, “So you know how Kara is really fast..? Well her sister apparently has the same athletic prowess, as well as a gun… and an FBI badge.”
Lena smiled, “It’s fine, Jess. I have nothing scheduled until my lunch with Kara at one, am I right?”
“Yes, Miss Luthor. Should I order in?”
“Please.”
Lena sucked in a breath and squared her shoulders, wondering exactly why Agent Danvers had dropped by. She strode into her office, determined to keep the upper hand on home turf. Alex was standing by the balcony doors, staring out across the city.
“Good morning, Agent Danvers. I’m guessing this isn’t a social call,” Lena said, placing her laptop and notes back onto her desk.
Alex turned, a stern look on her face, “Now is not the time for you to be smart…”
Lena smirked and motioned towards the couch, “Please sit, Agent Danvers.”
It took a moment. Alex clearly weighing up Lena’s motives before taking the seat next to Lena, “A heart? Really?”
Lena frowned, “I’m not following.”
“Seriously? You bought CatCo, convinced my hard-headed sister to take her job back and sent her a heart emoji? What kind of… Lena, that is gay. Really fucking gay.”
Oh, Lena sighed, she clearly hadn’t factored in the reaction of others when she’d made the decision to buy CatCo. “I understand how this looks…”
Alex stood up, “No, I am talking.” Lena nodded and fell silent, think it better to let Alex get whatever it was that she needed to say, out in the open. “I don’t know if I want to strangle you or hug you, Lena! We have all been trying to get through to her… for months! But nothing was working, then along comes Lena fucking Luthor and her pout and suddenly Kara is back to being Kara again?”
Lena froze, Alex’s rant informing her that Kara wasn’t just avoiding her, she’d been avoiding everyone. “I just thought…”
“No, Lena. Just wait. I need to know what your deal is. Because I swear to God, if you hurt Kara, I won’t just kill you…” Lena watched quietly while Alex paced, waiting for the rest of the threat. “This is your chance to reassure me that you’re not one of the asshole Luthors and you’re actually in this for the long haul, because I don’t know if Kara can handle losing someone else.”
“Oh…” Lena suddenly noticed the slight tremor in Alex’s and realised that whatever Kara had been through in the last six months had probably terrified her sister. She took Alex’s hand and sat her back on the couch, “Kara… Is the most important person in my life, Alex. And I know that she’s been through a lot, and that things are hard for her right now, but I will always be there for her. Hell, if I do hurt her, I’d probably just come and find you, because I don’t think I could live with myself.”
“Please don’t break her heart.”
Lena let out a bitter laugh, “I think it’s more than likely that I’m the one in danger of that at the moment. I know that Kara… I know she’s straight, and I respect that, so I will keep all of these feelings in check, so I can be what Kara needs right now.”
She let her hand drop back to the couch, Alex stole it back, finally making eye contact, “Straight? Kara…?”
Lena froze, “Uh, that is who we were talking about…?”
Alex laughed, “I thought you two were dating, then i saw that ridiculous heart emoji and figured I’d need to give you the shovel talk.”
“Oh… No! That’s… She’s not straight?”
“Of course that’s what you’re focussing on. No, she’s not, but she can be oblivious. Just… hang in there, and let me know if you ever need to talk, okay? You’re… I think you’re exactly what she needs right now, Lena.” Lena blinked back tears as Alex pulled her in for a hug. “Call me, if you ever need to talk, okay?”
Lena nodded and flipped the business card that had been slipped into her hand, “Thanks, Alex.”
Prompt, Lena wearing a superhero (batman or wonder woman) underwear/ boxers and see Kara's reaction.
“What are those!?”
Lena rolled her eyes and turned back to her best friend, who had a handful of popcorn halfway to her mouth, “Pyjamas?”
She scrunched her nose as Kara dropped the popcorn back into the bowl, “No… Those… Those are supporting the competition!”
Of course Kara’s eyes had been drawn to the bat symbol on her boxer shorts and camisole, “Kara, I’m sure Supergirl will survive me wearing batman merch…”
“I don’t know! What if she won’t? She thinks you’re friends… She’ll be heartbroken.”
Lena lifted a foot and pushed Kara across the couch slightly, “Well, imagined how she’d feel if she found out I own branded Supergirl lingerie?”
Kara choking on popcorn was enough of an answer to make Lena feel remarkably smug.

There was an incessant beeping drilling Kara’s eardrums as she slowly roused. She recognised the sound as Lena’s alarm. She nudged her friend, groaning and pushing her towards the bedside table. “Turn it off…”
She heard Lena stir, sitting up and reaching for her phone, “No, we’ve gotta get up. We’re going to the market this morning, remember.”
Kara whined, and dragged Lena back into bed dropping her arm back on top of her, “No. It’s too early.”
Lena chuckled, “Come on, shower. I’ll make it worth your while…”
Kara cracked an eye open, “Bargaining is not your strong suit, Ms Luthor. You’re naked, in bed. What could you possibly offer that tops this?”
Dress
Do you guys remember me telling you about the Dress fic? Well you can thank @cannon-fannon @shesamarshmallow @dabvers for encouraging this nonsense.

It wasn’t supposed to be this hard. There were rules in place, guidelines that she and Kara had hashed out over two bottles of wine (alien, for Kara) allowing them to keep this casual, simple, secret. It was easy at the start, fuelled by alcohol and lust, taking over their intimate moments before the sun rose and settled them back into their platonic roles. Months of late nights and sneaking home.
prompt - sweater (bc fall <3)
just so you know, my smartarse self was gonna write a mini about kara tripping over a jumper or falling face first into Lena’s boobs because I’m australian and we don’t do fall… (honestly don’t be surprised if either of those posts turn up in the next few days…. Kara was dying. There wasn’t much more she could say to describe how she was feeling without admitting to things that she spent far too long suppressing. She shrugged at Alex who was staring at her, with that pinched expression, the one she got when she was about to pounce on a suspect. Maggie was grinning like the Cheshire cat from her perch on the arm of the recliner that Alex had claimed on arriving.
“She’s had a big week, guys. Come on.”
She glanced back to Lena who was curled up on her lap, face pressed into Kara’s neck as she slept.
“You’re conveniently leaving out the part where she was feeling uncomfortable about being here with all of us for the first time… At least until she put on your sweater and basically passed out. That’s a comfort thing Kara,” Alex said, placing her jenga piece on top of the pile.
Kara rolled her eyes and nudged Winn, “You go. I can’t reach from here.”
James chuckled into his beer as Winn brandished his phone, sounding a loud whipcrack through the den. Maggie and Alex joined the laughter, but hushed quickly at the glare Kara sent them.
“Shh,” she stroked Lena’s hair as her friend started to stir. “Winn, if you wake her up, I swear to Rao…”
***
It took less than five minutes for James to topple the jenga tower, waking Lena with a start. Kara quickly got her attention, reminding Lena where she was and that she was safe. Of course, reminding Lena that she’d fallen asleep clinging to Kara like a koala during game night was a sure way to set the CEO’s cheeks aflame with embarrassment.
“Lena, relax. We’ve all done it before. You haven’t officially been initiated into game night crew until you’ve passed out in the middle of a game,” Maggie said, sliding off the chair to help the boys collect the scattered bars.
“I’m sorry. It’s been a hell of a week,” Lena answered, still too sleepy to move herself out of Kara’s grip.
“You’re right, it’s definitely getting too late for a work night. Maggie has to be at the precinct at 6 tomorrow,” Alex said, laughing at the groan that Maggie let out.
Kara sighed, “Well, I still haven’t started that fluff piece that Snapper is punishing me with… Jokes on him, I love binturongs… Snuggling with a baby binturong is hardly punishment.”
Lena laughed sleepily, “Is that why we’re going to the zoo tomorrow?”
Silence fell across the room, James and Winn looking up from the floor with confused expressions, Maggie looked like she’d just won the lottery, and Alex… Alex just looked like she was ready to punch something.
“Yeah, Supergirl rescued one of the keepers from becoming a chew toy last week when one of the cats got over excited. So she pulled some strings for us…”
“She’s so nice…”
Maggie laughed… Honestly laughed, and Kara threw her a filthy look. Lena was adorable when she was sleepy, but Kara knew that she’d be embarrassed later when she was fully awake. “Right, that’s probably our cue to leave.”
“You’re right to get Lena home?” Alex asked, kissing her sister’s cheek.
“Stayin’ here…”
“Apparently she’s staying here,” Kara chuckled. Alex rolled her eyes and said her farewells to the boys as they left with silent waves from the doorway.
“You should…” Alex shifted uncomfortably, looking over to Maggie, who nodded, “You should think about bringing her in… on your… you know…”
Kara sat up as straight as she could, without jostling her best friend too much, “Alex? Are you…? Is this…? I can tell her…?”
Alex smoothed down Kara’s hair, “Yeah. I know I’ve been adamant about keeping it quiet… but… She deserves to know. You deserve that freedom.”
Kara squeezed Alex’s hand lightly, “Thank you.”
