Isabella Di Maria, a name many people recognized in her native, Manhattan. She was an up and coming defense attorney who worked for one of New York’s most prestigious law firms. The fact that her family was rather wealthy and very well known was icing on the cake. Since before she was even conceived her life had been planned out for her, she would go to the most prestigious schools, head to Yale to study law and upon graduation, she would get a job at the law firm where she would have been interning since she was a junior in high school. Everything was planned out for Isabella all she had to do was show up, maintain the grades, and of course maintain the image that came with the Di Maria last name. She did what was asked of her, she smiled when people were around, greeted people, went to charity events, maintained her grades, and even dated the guys that her parents thought were better suited for her but she wasn’t happy. Isabella had the world at her feet and all she wanted was to escape that world and do things on her own terms to see if she could be as successful without her family behind her.
She knew that her desire to leave Manhattan and the glamorous life that she was accustomed to would be hard, especially because her parents would be so against it, but she had to try, she owed it to herself. Moving to Philadelphia changed Isabella’s life in more ways than she had ever expected. She wanted to work for a Pro Bono firm and help people but she got an opportunity she just couldn’t pass up, to be an assistant DA. At first, she was worried that perhaps her parents had called in favor but soon her suspicions were put to rest when the DA explained that he had followed a trial she had helped in and he just needed her on his team. Isabella had been in Philly as an assistant DA for a good year when another job opportunity came to her, one that she was positive her parents knew nothing about since the whole thing seemed to be top secret and on a need to know basis.
Realizing that she could do things on her own she decided to take the job, after all, it was to help people, special people, on a site that not many knew about. She jumped at the opportunity and didn’t look back. Being in Lake Grimstone was not at all what Isabella expected though, she thought she was going there to help and instead it seems like most residents there dislike her and her colleagues since they blame them for being locked up. As if not being there to help but rather to babysit wasn’t bad enough, Isabella discovered that she does, in fact, belong in Lake Grimstone, just not as one of the government officials but rather as one of the residents. Isabella now has to keep her power under wraps at least from most of the residents, since, a select few from the government and residents do know about her power. She is learning to control it and continue to keep the residents somewhat happy.
LIAM SLATER - Liam is Isabella’s adoptive son and her greatest happiness. She loves him unconditionally and wants to do anything she can to help him become everything he wants.
EMILY SONG & SOPHIA MIDDLETON - The relationship between Isabella and Emily is much more than just a mentor and a mentee it is more like an older sister guiding a younger one. There’s probably nothing she wouldn’t do to protect them.
XAVIER DAY - To Isabella, Xavier is much more than just a colleague he is a friend. Since the minute they were introduced she knew that he was someone she would get along with.
