I painted this a while back to experiment.... and cropped it about 4 different ways until I said fuck it, good enough ... still can’t decide if I like it or not, but HEYYY at least I’m drawing different characters ahaha ;;

It is finally time for the Grims’ Truth Artist Spotlight!

For anyone who views this post that doesn’t know, Grims’ Truth is an epic fantasy series written by me and my mother, which launches October 2nd with Evolved Publishing. 

A few months ago we invited readers, supporters, and friends to join in on a 10 day countdown to launch by contributing pieces of series-related art. The art could be anything ranging from drawings, photography, recipes, cosplay, beading.. well, basically anything that’s art!  

It has been an incredible experience which has allowed us to grow closer to the participants and really see the excitement stirring within the group. We were most pleased to see how much fun everyone had during the process. 

I’m getting this up late tonight due to some last minute submissions, but I’ll be posting on my other accounts and the book series accounts and website. 

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the turn out of this spotlight. There have been some extremely creative ideas! 

We’re going to leave the DAY 10 artist up until tomorrow afternoon so that their work more has time to be featured (: 

During each day, the artist’s submission will be up on our front page and social media with credits. When the spotlight is over, we’ll be uploading them onto a new page on our website titled ARTIST SPOTLIGHT, so they can be viewed at any time. 

We used Instagram handles, since some of the participants don’t have Tumblr, but the tags for the Tumblr users are down below. 

This is just the first of many and next time we’ll be opening submissions to more people. The next one is November 25 - December 4 for the launch of Book 2: Conundrum! So far, we have 4/10 slots filled. 

Thank you to all the participants! <3 This has been really exciting and it was really special to see how much work everyone put into this. We can’t wait to share all of your work! 

The series concept has been in the works for many years, but the series itself is just a fledgling. It really means a lot to have support at the very start of our journey, especially with people that are so important to us. 

Our following may be small now, but we’ll work hard to show that we can succeed with everyone’s support. 

Today is DAY 10 and the first art piece will be on the front page at grimstruth.com as well as on our social media at the links below.
