It was a lie. He had absolutely been playing with Rocket’s stuff. But there were buttons. Groot couldn’t resist a button.

Rocket chuckled, picking the twig up and setting him down on his workbench. “Hey, ya ain’t in trouble, I just wanna know where my wrench ended up.” He couldn’t be mad with his little twig, not now, not ever. He might scold him if there was a chance Groot would do something that might hurt himself but that was it. “Now, do you remember where it went? I had it sittin’ here.”
