For decades, critics have sworn that Israel has “occupied” Gaza since 1967. It was their anthem, their rallying cry, their proof of Israeli villainy. Now, after October 7, when Israel actually considers moving back into Gaza, those same critics are in full meltdown. If Gaza was already occupied for 59 years, what’s the sudden crisis? Did they just realize their own story never added up? Or is the outrage only switched on when it serves the political script of the day? This is how narrative warfare works. Say one thing for decades, then say the opposite when events change, hoping no one notices. The facts become flexible. The outrage is selective. The hypocrisy is constant. You cannot claim an occupation never ended and then sound the alarm about it beginning. That is not advocacy, it is manipulation. And the moment you see the switch, you see the whole game.
