Thank you for your response, my friend! For the record, I did not purchase the chips as I prefer to keep myself on the paladin side of things and not get stuck using the less fusion-friendly devils. Very interesting analysis of the comparison of Utz snacks and SMTV! While she's not quite the Goddess of Tokyo, the Utz Girl is almost revered as a goddess among us spudfolk, and she's even "resurrected" once or twice with the changing times. (1/2)
(2/2) Also, while researching how to stretch this bit out, I dug up a sweet detail from Wikipedia that fits perfectly with the over-baked symbolism of SMTV: At least seven languages (Afrikaans, Dutch, French, (West) Frisian, Hebrew, Persian and some variants of German) are known to use a term for "potato" that translates roughly (or literally) into English as "earth apple" or "ground apple"
Thank you for this fun potato fact! I will share the "ground apples" with friends and family the next time I open a fresh bag of Utz chips!
I prefer Utz's Crab Chip to other brands that actually use Old Bay. But those Herr's Old Bay cheese puffs are not too bad and I kinda hate cheese puffs. They just get stuck in your teeth, damn. And honestly, as a Marylander, just because Old Bay is king doesn't mean you should dismiss generic "Chesapeake Bay Crab Seasoning" in its forms.
And if you thought I couldn't make this post SMT-related, just watch me.
(One of my kitchen shelves in my Japanese apartment, I probably posted this 10 years ago.)
