I sent this ask to Soren already, but I figured I might as well ask you too: Do you have any thoughts on Jujutsu Kaisen? Have you watched or read it at all? I'll admit that it's connection to this SMT and mythology-themed blog is kind of loose, but it's a series that is very near and dear to my heart, and one that incorporates quite a lot of buddhist imagery and symbolism to convey its themes, and it does contain several mythological references. The main example of this is, of course, Ryomen Sukuna, who's name and lore are either directly taken from or inspired by the mythical being/general who appears in the Nihon Shoki, but there's also the character Hana Kurusu (a literal Angel), the Inverted Spear of Heaven that is based on the spear used by Izanagi to create Japan and the Shikigami Garuda, which ends up fighting a Cursed Spirit named after and based on a major Hindu deity (which I won't spoil for the anime-onlies).
I've heard the name since it became popular but have only learned more about it through osmosis. I do know it's kinda SMT-like or maybe even Jojo-like because of the summoned spirits. But like how I'm not much of an anime guy, I've rarely ever been into manga, either. If I do read manga, I'll have to play catch-up with some of the all-timers like Devilman and Berserk, which I think will be more up my alley.
