big grounding/stim kit; the journal with stickers goes everywhere with us so it's not a permanent piece of this kit-- eventually this will be split into two(?) smaller ones i think? but for now this.
some of those smaller bags have little figurines and others have a bunch of ttrpg dice. the little blue photo album of our late cat amber. the tlopps tin is blaseball cards. the white thing in the kinetic sand is little pill bags of cottom swabs soaked with essential oils that help us ground because they are very sharp smells but not unpleasant. the microphone and baseball is because parker? is a nerd. the grounding cards are off etsy. the rainbow ball is v good.
the calico cat is weighted; the little orange cat is not. the baseball jellycat was a gift from ct to parker?, and the other keychain are parker?'s daemons. the headphones are noise canceling.
if anyone is curious how any of these items work for grounding, please ask (: we picked them on purpose based on advice from the finding solid ground book's on how to make a grounding kit.
Look what JDM goodness showed up in the mail! My super hard to find Zero/Sports ‘V-Effector Voltage Stabilizer’ kit and 'V-Earthing Ground’ kit for my 98 LGT. Looks like I get to install this over the weekend.

Alright guys. Here's something that has really helped me out. It's called a grounding kit. The idea is to fill it with stuff that helps ground you, or helps you come down from an anxiety attack, flashback, nightmare, etc. You can put whatever you need in it. If you don't know what to put in, just start with things that make you happy or relax you. I do not recommend it AT ALL, but when I was young and dumb (or at least younger and dumber), i used to purposely trigger myself in a safe place so i could learn what brought me down. Please don't use this method. If you decide you are going to, make sure you are in a safe place and have someone you trust with you just in case things get out of control. Here's what's my grounding kit: -pocket notebook with instructions on what to do and how to relax (i do better with direct orders when panicking), nice reminders like "it's not real" and "you're safe," and blank pages to write how I'm feeling -pen for above notebook -anti anxiety medication -inhaler just incase i start hyperventilating or something -Hot Hands pack and an instant cold compress. The sensations of hot and cold help me stop dissociating -sour gummy worms and salted sunflower seeds. Same as above, just with the "extreme" flavors of sour and salt -pine tree scented candle and tree ornaments. The smell is relaxing -fidget toys including art balls, a spinner ring, and a big bouncy ball -mechanical pocket watch to remind me that time is actually a thing -two pocket knives. NOT for what you think; i just feel safer with a knife or two -one leather bracelet with my horse's name on it and one leather bracelet that i got for Christmas after I came out as trans to remind me that i have a reason to live and that people care about me -Jolly Ranchers and cough drops to suck on I keep it all in this little briefcase/toolbox i got at Harbor Freight. The outside of the box is rough and sometimes i rub that too. But it's really easy to pick up and take with me if i need to (I've done this for some doctor's appointments)! I keep the box under my bed so if i wake up in the middle of the night, it's right there. Eventually, I'm going to actually shell out the money for colored printer ink and print out some pictures of things that make me happy or are life goals of mine to put in there as well; my horse, Star Wars, space, the New York Times Best Seller list, and the beach to name a few. When I moved my kit out of the shoe box it used to be in, i never printed new pictures 😅 Anyways, I thought you guys might be interested in this. If anyone has questions, i'll gladly answer them if I can 😊
