Two weeks on at GrouPAY
Two weeks is a long time in the life of a start-up
Things have been crazy busy over the last couple of weeks so I wanted to update everyone on what's been going on at GrouPAY in three key respects: how the product is changing, how our user-base is growing and also to tell you all about a couple of exciting developments for the company.
In terms of the product we have made huge strides having launched a new version last week with much better functionality for larger groups of 200+ members (we think, let us know if you disagree!!!). We make a point of trying to speak personally with every user at key milestones (when they sign up, when they create a bill, when they've been with us for a month etc.) and having heard a common theme around a need for team registration we're working on improving this in the next couple of weeks, as well as working hard on making reminders even more effective. If you're using the product and there's something you think we should be doing that we're not then let me know at [email protected].
On the payments side we're working hard with the banks to develop our own payments platform. This will enable us to give our users access to payment facilities they cannot otherwise use saving them time and money, and for many opening up new revenue streams. Fingers crossed progress continues at its current pace and we will have this in place by the summer.
We are signing up more and more groups every day and have collected over £30k for our users in the past few weeks. Our initial focus has been on helping large sports clubs and societies collect money, an area we know well having had to do this ourselves in the past. What's fantastic is that the most common response from club treasurers on hearing about our product is "What's the catch". Let me take this opportunity to say there really isn't one, our goal is to make your lives easier and to provide you with a new, better, cheaper and quicker way of collecting money. Sign up and see for yourself at www.groupay.co.uk today!
GrouPAY the company has also had a really exciting few weeks. We have just been made escape the City's Heroes of the Week http://www.escapethecity.org/heroes/matt_robinson. We have been approached by a number of investors who are keen to work with us and have also been in positive talks with a number of potential partners. To top it all off we've been lucky enough to get an interview for Y-Combinator the world's foremost seed-stage startup funding firm so we'll be flying out to Silicon Valley next week which we're all extremely excited about. What does all this mean for you, our users? Essentially, that we could soon be working with people who can help make a radical difference to the quality of our product and the team behind it.
Sorry it's a bit of an essay but I did say that lots had gone on since we last spoke! Thanks for reading and as ever, if you've got any questions, comments or feedback don't hesitate to get in touch.
