"I want you to make groups of four, and start working on the task!" "Erlend, do you wanna join our group?"
This was on a milk carton a little while ago. The series is Storefri (the longest break during a day at school) by Marius Henriksen. I find all of those strips either funny or really sweet.
“Digital Divide in the New Normal”
The Covid-19 pandemic has been in this world for just about 2 years currently influencing a few things in this world. Counting life, economy, society, and obviously, schooling. Since we’re caught in our own homes, forestalling the infection to taint our body and furthermore stop the spread of the infection. Remaining at home, not associating with individuals can be pretty discouraging as it can cause you to feel desolate and undesirable. That is the reason the web has been found and was generally utilized simply even before the pandemic has begun. From purchasing things to looking for certain thoughts and data, the web won't ever bomb you in every one of your requirements. However, before you can get to the web, you want a device that associates the Wi-Fi or the web for you to approach. However, the serious issue is, not every person can manage the cost of such lavish things. Albeit this is the 21st Century, the hour of the present day and modern time, there are still individuals who are as yet experiencing in destitution. As the economy rises, costs available additionally rise. Making standard individuals work two fold what's more be all the more extra. What's more now, since there’s a pandemic, a many individuals are impacted by this occasion. Losing an employment, shutting your business, and surprisingly limiting understudies to go to school. Admittance to the web takes care of the vast majority of the issues that exist today. We lock in our classes on the web, we sell things on the web, we look for occupations on the web.
Despite the fact that this pandemic changed most the things in this world, this likewise calls for a chance. We should simply to open our psyches, think about a thought, an idea, or indeed, even have a go at investigating something on the web, and you can create a decent gain out of it. Making a new thing all alone and transforming it into a leisure activity. Like creating melodies, making a sonnet, composing a novel, creating a video, and distributing everything on the web. Ensure that it is enlisted under the Copyright Law to guarantee that nobody will take your manifestations that have become animated in view of your innovative psyche. In this new ordinary, we should have sufficient cash to get by in our regular daily existences since these circumstances are difficult, and we should be extra mindful so as to our bodies not to get contaminated. Furthermore well going to secure our body, yet in addition, our scholarly properties. Your creation matters and ought not be duplicated by some other individuals without your consent. In this vulnerability world, we are uncertain of what might occur or what’s to come, that is the reason you want to experience the best out of it.
A couple of captures from our group exercise where we simulated natural light in the studio and used dark field illumination as well.
Part three//
Drawing for print workshop
This part of the workshop was one of my favourite activities, frottage (rubbings).
We used charcoal and various objects, textures and surfaces to create rubbings. I feel that this is a great way to create research sketches when exploring composition and texture as you can use near enough anything to create a mark.
Part two//
Drawing for print workshop
In the second station we were asked to cut shapes out of white paper with scissors and then stick it to the red wall.
The previous group had began an image tree on the wall so as a group we decided to decorate by adding more plants, and abstract shapes to create a surreal scene of an alien landing in a tree.
This didn't create the best effect in my opinion as it did not effectively hold up on the wall, as well as some irregular shapes that could have been cut slightly neater given more time.
Part One//
Drawing for print workshop
In another workshop I took part in we were asked to go around different stations and use the materials there to create drawings within 20 minutes, we were encouraged to collaborate and to use each other's ideas to create a sort of theme.
The first station my group created in was mono print, we rolled out a generous layer of black ink across a large sheet of plastic and then lay paper on top. As a group we moved across the paper using our fingers, bodies, feet, jewlery and other belonging to press marks into the paper. On lifting the paper off it revealed a very dynamic print that despite the pressure applied has a great amount of negative space, the negative space also displays how timid we were as a group to begin with but then the busier areas really represent when the group gained confidence, for example the harsh scratch line on images 3 and 4.
This first task helped us bond as a group and free up a lot.
Curious Campus Reflection
Taking part in Curious Campus was a difficult task for me, collaborative tasks in groups this large felt intimidating and pushed me to areas of art that I wouldn't have previously thought about (large sculptural work).
I feel that it was a beneficial experience but would approach it slightly differently if I were to do the task again. This would mainly include keeping detailed note of group members ideas and thought processes
