Olympic National Park 9.14.17-9.17.17 with The Venture Out Project: Post 2 of 2 -[The Project & the People] For those of you who may be unfamiliar, @theventureoutproject hosts and guides "outdoor education and wilderness trips for trans and queer youth and adults". They are based out of Northampton, MA and Portland, OR. I absolutely love this non-profit and the amazing humans that run it - @perrylcohen and @tc_frost...💙💙💙 What they do combines 2 of my greatest passions and loves: connecting trans and queer framily, while getting us outdoors to enjoy and be active in nature together. What could be better?! 😍🏕🏔 I went on my first trip with them recently, and it was an absolute blast. They provided a stellar balance of education, skill sharing, responsibility, bonding exercises and play that made this trip absolutely perfect. I met so many wonderful new friends and got to spend some quality time with a few old ones too!! 😍 I highly recommend anyone interested to join them on one of their trips (or more!) in the future. They also offer youth trips, winter trips (skiing, snowshoeing, etc.), scholarships, and regularly scheduled free hikes in the corners of the country where they each reside. I returned there recently with @theventureoutproject, and it was so very peaceful again. A recharge. A breath of fresh air.
