Yoooooooooo!!!!!!!! I've been waiting weeks for my hens to lay and lay they have
Here are the tomatoes I repotted yesterday. Looking very happy
Separating/Repotting some tomatoes today. I’m sure many of my fellow gardeners know that tomatoes are pretty damn hardy and are sort of hard to kill. If you plant your tomatoes and multiple sprout, you can easily take them out of their pot and separate them and plant them out into their own individual pot. This is typically why I always end up with about 60 extra tomatoes every year 🤷
The one on the left is 1 of my garlic beds. Didn’t sprout as well as I’d have hoped but between the wild weather and the chickens I really can’t blame it. The other picture on the right is 2/8 beds in the new garden. Did a whole coop clean out to add some more hay/manure to the beds before planting begins in about 2 months
Cleared out 3 trees. This will free up 4-5 hours of sunlight for the garden and the fruit trees/bushes. I’m not expecting everything to happen all at once but I’m certainly anticipating a much more fruitful harvest in the 2021 growing season.
We’ve had some health concerns at my house lately, nothing serious at all. But it’s made us look at what we are eating and how it may be effecting us. We buy local, grass fed beef, free of hormones. We eat our own eggs and in a few weeks we will be getting our own meat birds. Ideally, I would like for us to be 70% self sustained by 2022. It’s amazing what you can accomplish when the desire meets the demand
I’ve made a LOT of mistakes in the garden. However, the biggest mistake I’ve made is planting strawberries
