Based on my own experience/s, it's not growing up that "sucks" it's the way we do that does. Do you remember when you were just a little kid? When all you do was just play all day and do whatever that makes you happy? Well, you can still do that even when you're at this age right now. What's stopping you? People's comments and reactions? Or their judgement? Well, I believe that all of us, every single one of us has the right to do anything we want and whatever that makes us happy. You shouldn't let people change who you are or stop you. It's either you let their words break you, or make you stronger. You choose, it's your mind. Not theirs! I still remember when I was just a little kid, when all I worried about was not being able to watch my favorite Disney and Nickelodeon shows, not being able to drink my favorite milk anchor, not being able to go out and play, not being able to eat chocolates all day and many many more. And when the only thing that hurt me was when I used to ride my bike and fell and have scratches and bruises that we used to call "boo boo's". How I miss being a little kid. And I believe that I'm not the only one who misses their Childhood. But things are very different now, we're now called as "grown-ups" or "teenagers". There's much more things that can hurt us than just having boo boo's and things to worry about than worrying about us not being able to watch are favorite cartoons. We must help ourselves find the real us and somehow, be independent. :)
