The first three figures of the TFSS 4.0 have hit mailboxes everywhere. While I have taken care not to spoil anyone who is still waiting for their arrival, be assured we have plenty of pictures here if you just can’t wait to check out the guys out. So there you have it, click here and enter if you dare…
Now, while normally I would give a full review of the figures, it’s Father’s Day, and I have fatherly things to do. I will keep this short by saying the figures are phenomenal. The tolerances on the molds are great, and they are slathered in paint and tampos. Honestly, these are some of the prettiest figures to come out of the TFSS yet, and I can hardly wait to see the last half of the subscription now. I’m also really regretting not getting a second sub, but that is for another day. Anyhow, enjoy the gallery and have a Happy Father’s Day!

Character Spotlight: Grubbage
“Oh well, s’pose I’d better order the crew to make full sail. Huh, I got to do all the thinkin’ on this ship, while the Cap’n strolls round talkin’ rubbish!”
- Grubbage comically laments his duties
Grubbage the wharf rat was acting bosun of Captain Plugg Firetail’s vermin crew. Nearly deaf due to the loss of both ears, Grubbage tolerated a fair share of ill-treatment from his Captain as a result of repeatedly mishearing Plugg’s words. Obedient, jolly, loyal, even-tempered, and positive, Grubbage hails as the last remaining survivor of Plugg Firetail’s Freebooters.
A simple but intelligent vermin, Grubbage was content to carry out his Captain’s orders to the best of his ability. He often minded the tiller and encouraged his crewmates as they sailed with Princess Kurda and Prince Bladd across the sea in pursuit of Riftguard’s escaped slaves. His deafness roused Captain Plugg’s temper on several occasions, and Plugg would discipline his bosun with a swift kick to the bottom (Free”booters”, eh?). Grubbage always took his Captain’s actions in stride and never seemed to hold a personal grudge against the fox. The bosun also showed great navigational ability, which may explain why Captain Plugg tolerated Grubbage’s presence. At the conclusion of their entire adventure, and after losing his Captain and crewmates, Grubbage is noted as having joined the group of creatures who returned to Riftguard to free the slaves.
It is unknown how Grubbage’s mild nature came about. Perhaps his thoughtfulness may be largely a result of the injury that claimed both of his ears and nearly left him completely deaf. In any case, Grubbage qualifies as one of the characters who breaks the Redwall race stereotype.
