The arctic, a harsh yet fragile ecosystem, plays a key role in regulating Earth's climate. Think about it like a thermostat for the planet, but someone (i.e. us) keeps cranking up the heat then fobbing off the monthly utility bill to somebody else (i.e. nature, our kids, their kids, their kids' kids...)
