This Tuesday, I travelled from Copenhagen to Hamburg to see MIYAVI live. I got up at four in the morning and rode the train for around five hours and arrived at the venue at one. Already then, I was so exhausted that I did not think I would last until the concert. A few hours later, MYV himself actually stepped out of his tour bus, waved and said hi before entering the venue. Cue me screeching to myself as the fangirl I am. 

But, this concert was so incredible, I think at one point I felt my soul being cleansed lol. He was ever bit as amazing as I thought he would - even more so. He’s so kindhearted and he really wants to just share his music with everyone and help people. It was genuine, I was bawling my eyes out during his cover of ‘Youth of the Nation’. Not to mention, I was completely devastated when the show was over. Usually I’m just glad to get the hell out there because I have a lot of social anxiety and my personal space being invaded so violently for so many hours in a row is not something I deal well with. I even had a cruel ass panic attack while I was waiting in the queue, an hour before the door opened. I just couldn’t breathe and everything around me was spinning, but damn it if I wasn’t going to fight my way through it. I don’t take queueing lightly if it means I actually have a chance of being in the front - and I did. I got to the very front and it was awesome.

I can’t even remember the last time I had so much fun at a concert. I swear, usually it’s like 60% nodding along to the music and 40% trying to keep my anxiety under control and I just think it says a lot about what MIYAVI’s music can do and how much he actually means to people. I was dancing and singing along, it was as if I had been freed from a cage, even if it was just for a couple hours. 

So thank you.
