Grunge Vibes Jenny decided to change her look and go with a more 90s vibe, complete with tattoos, piercings, dyke boots, flannel shirts, plaid skirts, band t-shirts—the whole shebang! She went from being your typical teenage girl to a genuine alternative girl who looked like she walked off an American Apparel ad shoot or some other grungy street style image you could find online. She adopted a sneer and a lousy attitude around her parents, for she had taken method acting classes and wanted to make her alt girl persona as accurate as possible. Her friends and classmates at school were shocked by the transformation, and they teased her about it often. But Jenny wasn't deterred and continued to embrace her new "look." She'd listen to The Smashing Pumpkins on an old Walkman she found at the flea market and wore Doc Martens instead of the lame pink sneakers her mother bought her last year. Jenny's parents did not like this new side of their daughter. They couldn't understand why their formerly perfect daughter was now dressed like they did back in the 90s. This upset them so much that they tried to bribe her with gifts if she would only go back to looking the way she used to. It didn't work.
