Do your characters have any sort of parental/family-like figures or relationships (even if they’re supernatural)? Without fail, my gal Zenith ends up in a bare minimum monthly, sorta comical fight with her mother over the phone, who for some reason keeps calling her, and she has to excuse herself outside from band practice so they can snap at each other in German for 20 minutes when an inevitable argument forms.

anyway ya!! a lot of my characters are related bc im a sucker for family shit. i will spare you and only explain my main two families:

sev, riz, basira, and vin are all sisters (with sev being the youngest and vin being the oldest) and vita is their mother (vin and basira are from vita’s first marriage and sev and riz are from her second) vita loves them all so much and even though she is sort of ditzy she wants the best for all of them and is such a doting mother!!!! they are all mama’s girls and are all very close with each other.

norm, jed, and grylus are all brothers and had a very complex and not entirely fun relationship with their father who was a person with extremely high expectations and did not appreciate creativity or individuality. (norm is the youngest, grylus is the oldest) grylus spent the majority of his life trying to live up to his father’s impossible expectations even long after his father’s death and consequently never really learned how to be himself. jed said fuck that to the whole thing and left home as soon as he was able to and didnt look back. norm ... i dont really know how to explain. he’s a problem child. jed and grylus are still very close, jed hates norm with every fiber of his being because a lot of his childhood was him being tormented by norm, and grylus is just a complaisant person that just sort of wearily takes whatever abuse norm throws at him.

And then finally god decided to put him/me out of my misery and my alarm went off and he/I got to wake up for real

So yeah like I was saying a while ago I’ve always had issues with sleep paralysis and over time they’ve evolved more into weird half-dreams where I have no idea what is and isn’t reality anymore so like I know i probably shouldn’t just call it sleep paralysis anymore but it always starts out with it and then turns into something weird

I feel like grylus would deal with something very similar so I made this about him

Eden feels desperately homesick for the forest near where they grew up. There's no no way they'd be able to return there, so they're trying to make a garden that reminds them of it. It's a bit hard to do that though, when you have no soil to grow plants

this must be left over from last night, im sorry i didnt get to it before i went to bed!!

grylus, being the oldest of him, jed, and norm, remembers the most about where they grew up before they moved, and misses their old home in a lot of ways. one thing he misses about where they used to live is the fireflies, you just dont get those in the pacific northwest… jed misses the storms (while theres plenty of rain up here, our storms arent really even worthy of being called storms at all… at least, compared to what he’s used to)

Semi related fun fact: norm's, Jed's, and grylus' dad was weirdly obsessive about facial hair and wanted all his boys to grow handsome, dashing, respectable mustaches but grylus is the only one who followed through with it. At this point in his life, now that their father is long gone, he only keeps his mustache out of habit and also he is missing a tooth and is a bit self conscious about it and his lovely lip curtain helps hide it

@frutbat fbdjekd you asked for Vita but it half turned into a grylus thing!!! I lost control I am sorry but dang I do need to draw Vita more Vita n grylus are pals but she definitely drains him
