I’m gonna need some facts for hearts and wings

1. here’s the breakdown of who knows what at the start of the fic: anders knows that Charlie and Jake are together but thinks that Matt doesn’t know anything about anyone. he also doesn’t know that matt dated Charlie. Matt doesn’t know that Jake is dating Charlie and also doesn’t know that anders also likes guys (wow poor guy was in the dark). Jake and Charlie both know everything but just elect not to tell Matt anything which brings me to my next point

2. I’d like to say there’s some kind of big moment where Matt and Charlie talk it out and idk express some feelings, but that doesn’t really ever happen. Jake is maybe the in-between man in some senses- I mean, clearly everyone figures out what happens in the end. But Charlie never apologizes for keeping his relationship with Jake a secret because he just can’t open that box with Matt. That hurts Matt’s feelings in a sense, but also? He doesn’t want to go there with Charlie either. After a few months it all rolls over, and that four hang out more and more until things feel pretty normal.

3. Matt and Anders go on a trip to Ireland. Is this relevant to the story hearts and wings? no. is it something that happens in this universe? yes. they go really low-key and buy nice sweaters and go see castles and giant’s causeway and drink a lot of beer.

4. The dynamic between them always shifts and changes during the regular season, and Anders was worried about how that would affect his and Matt’s young relationship, but Matt is super intentional about checking in and giving Anders space when there’s a lot of Together Time but also still being like… a good boyfriend and doing random nice things and providing an appropriate amount of hugs

5. matt knows it’s real when anders makes him his own spotify playlist
