Aww, look at Broadway being a better person than I admitted to sometimes being XD

His story has gone from 'looking' at the gun to 'playing' with it. He knows he held back a little on his confession to Goliath, when the confession was, in a way, coerced out of him. But Elisa was the one hurt by it. Elisa was who he almost lost. And he believes Elisa deserves the truth. The full truth. Good on him.

Broadway immediately breaks into his confession and apology because he's a good guy, and he knows she deserves to understand what happened. And we'll talk about that more. In a sec.

GOLIATH WHAT ARE YOU DOING! This is giving me such man-leaning-again-the-door-frame vibes XD I know that's not what they're going for here, but such lean! His hand on back of the bed like he's just keeping from touching her. She's alive! He hasn't lost this new person! His clan brother had not killed on accident. He's keeping a brave face about it all, probably for Elisa's sake who does seem pretty out of it, though coherent. But I think he's very much affected.

It's neat though. I suspect personally that she calls to him to thank him for bringing in Dracon.

Goliath can see now in a way he couldn't before how misguided that had been. It was for the best in the end to get those guns destroyed, but his reasons for it... I think her words when he wanted to kill Xanatos were enough to make him know that Elisa wouldn't be none the happiest if he killed someone in cold blood. I think she'd be even less pleased to think he would do it on her behalf.

So he doesn't want to be thanked. He doesn't want it to be acknowledged or applauded, because his intentions going in had not been to make the streets safer or to protect her 'castle.' It had come from a dark place he doesn't want her to see or have to acknowledge to her.

Broadway was braver than Goliath this time, making his complete confession where Goliath can't even speak on that which he may feel there's something to confess about.

Xanatos's office compared to Owen's. I think we can imagine who does more paperwork LMAO. Owen actually has books and bookshelves and drawers and lighting that is functional rather that mostly dramatique. It's also, clearly, much less grand and while roomy, not as big. Which he's going to be happy for in a moment as he's going to have a clan of gargoyles filling up that space.

I definitely think there are things to read in here about the personality of these two men, and also in the manner of these two different office visits lmao

I was wondering if this version of Gargoyles would show Elisa's blood. I do think something was cut here, as I feel like I distinctly remember a pool of blood around her on her kitchen floor at one point of watching. It was probably an establishing shot that this version took out. I guess that much blood is too scary? I can see why it's harder to remove it from this moment, and I am glad they did not remove this moment!

Because it's powerful seeing Broadway put Elisa on a cot and feeling her blood on his skin, which he caused. He literally has her "blood on his hands" for playing around with the gun, and he is understandably quite horrified by the realization of this. It's a good moment to get left with as we close out Broadway being in this scene.

It's almost all the more sad that he starts to get shyly happy when he realizes Elisa isn't going to yell at him. He stops talking to finally gauge her reaction, and when she's not yelling, he's hopeful that he didn't mess up too bad.

But he knows something is wrong when the silence goes on too long. Elisa's disappeared from making the steaks, and alas, he finds out just how bad of a mistake he made.

I really think that of the all the gargoyles, Broadway would find killing the hardest to actually do if were called for. He's a very sensitive soul who isn't truly interested in battle and does it mostly only for protection of those he cares deeply for. I really think I could make arguments for all the other gargoyles coming to decide to follow through on a kill before Broadway. I just say this to point out how ill equipped he is to handle what could be happening to Elisa in this moment, and I really do feel for the guy. I do hold Elisa more accountable for this situation than Broadway, who's only discussion surrounding guns probably came from films like the one he just saw. None of that though undoes what happened.

The moment everything of this scene clicks into place for Broadway, he drops the gun like it's burned him, and he rushes to Elisa's side. Luckily for him, he doesn't have to check for a pulse or anything to see if she's alive; she is able to acknowledge him ever so slightly. He then picks her up so fast, I missed catching it in a screen cap and whisks here away, presumably looking for aid. He certainly isn't in any position to provide any himself.

I like that though Broadway often comes off the most simple and dumbfounded of the gargoyles, he doesn't become paralyzed in this moment. It's very much a normal reaction to freeze up when panic strikes! It could be a very understandable, if unfortunate, reaction for a character like Broadway. I'm inclined to think that some of this is the cultural nature of gargoyles. You do not stand idly by while help is needed. That is a principle pushed the moment they hatch I'd bet. They likely take action to a fault as sometimes, inaction can be the best one. It's not impossible that calling for paramedics could provide the best medical outcome after all, which I think a person who tends to freeze up would find more accessible. But Broadway wouldn't like know about that and isn't in his nature either.
