And that's the episode! I did move through it kind of quick there at the end because I wanted to make sure I got it done, but I don't think I skipped all that much. I hope this was fun. Can't believe we'll be starting City of Stone next time!!

Between Demona's 'you may have prevented me from changing the past' and this little daydream of them in the future (present/Clocktower) together, I'm suddenly less sure about Goliath's speech to her younger self being an attempt to stop the massacre and instead an attempt to soften her over time, that they could be in this new future together. It doesn't HAVE to be that way, but it's kind of a yiiiiikes moment for me. Like the heartbreak is great, and I don't know how they could have done this otherwise without it coming off as just flashing back again to their vow scene, but it sits wrong with me XD. Lovely visuals though!
The way pride gets in the way of relationships. Father Xanatos probably came to this wedding hoping for some sort of reconciliation with his son, hoping to find that he's found meaning in human connections. But he saw it just more of his son bloated under his own piles of money.
Xanatos wanted more than what his father had and wanted to show him that he did do it and is worthy of pride. He wanted to impress his father, have him acknowledge how clever and smart his son was. But neither can just say what they want from the other. Instead they just snipe. Alas
And what it comes down to in this universe's version of timetravel is that it is immutable. Given that, it's funny that something like the Phoenix Gate even exists. It's amazing they came up with a solid additional storyline for going back in time in a later episode. XD
Also that last caption is not correct. He said "More's the pity."
And Demona's very first interaction following these dire warnings from the future is a human she has been working with calling her a beast and attacking her, making all sorts of assumptions about her inadequacy. Of course, he's not a good guy in the best of times really, but that's not the point. She's thinking in this moment that perhaps, there really was something to her future self's thinking.
LMAO DAMN XANATOS. "I'm not in any historical records of the past; therefore, I didn't stay in the past." You cocky son of a bitch XD
Does she remember from the one time she heard Demona do it, or because she had some idea from the Archmage? I'd be quite curious to know!
One of the few times I think Goliath puts MUCH TOO MUCH faith in the power of love. Omg. "Stay with me and keep trusting me and you can't go wrong" which totally ignores the ways he never fully addressed her concerns and fears and discontents along the way. If he had really worked with her and listened to her and shown her he would trust her wisdom too, she probably would have been less likely to go behind your back sir.
But what I can't get over her is his need to touch her as much as possible, trying to recapture for a moment that love he once add. Heartbreaking!!
