It seems like there's a nonzero number of people in the Golden Sun fandom who had a crush on Piers at some point. So confession time, when I was about 10 or 11 years old, I also had a massive crush on Piers. Like to the point where I printed out the photo below, taped it to my wall, and every night I would sing "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis to it and kiss it before bed. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

As someone who was around while Japanese news for The Lost Age was unfolding in real time, I was one of those people who got weirdly attached to his Japanese name and didn't call him "Piers" until much later. I need to know how many other people this happened to.

I think Lemuria has to be the biggest whiplash of the whole series. Like it's hyped up so much and then you get there in TLA and the theme is more appropriate to that of a ruin than a city. There's just this fundamental wrongness to its theme. And you hear it so much, because you're savescumming to get all the "right" equipment out of the fountain. It's this place of immortality and decay. A bit of the ancients has been preserved, but how corrupted, and at what cost?
Also, I'm not sure whether it's funnier if Piers is like 35 years old and barely out of adolescence (the waters of Lemuria canonically slow development, per dialog with the children of Lemuria), or if he's actually like 1000 years old but still clueless about how stuff works.
