From kettles to cameras, from battery-operated toys to toasters, from power drills to mobile phones, you have a few options other then putting them in the bin. Repair, recycle or reuse. By doing this the electrical goods we stop going to landfill helps preserve resources and energy, and stops harmful chemicals entering the environment. As councils warn of a £1bn hike in their rubbish disposal bills because of rising landfill taxes, its time we rethought what we do with those items. So how much money can be saved?
