In honor of Endangered Species Day, here is a photo of our female Guam Kingfisher. These birds originate from the island of Guam where they unfortunately became extinct in the wild due to the introduction of the brown tree snake. There are currently 160 of them in captivity and they are a part of the AZA's Species Survival Plan.
