as i latina myself i don’t think it’s racist if pinky liked latin music. in fact i would love it if she did! i think it’s great to infuse characters of color in their culture because you don’t usually see that. representation is very important (especially to poc) even if it’s just the smallest thing like pinky liking latin music. it provides a connection and something for us to relate to. also if you ever have any questions about certain things revolving the latinx culture id be happy to help!

I just worry about racism and stuff cause when I brought Alejandro back as the guy who attacked Jo, I immediately got a “that’s a racist thing to do” in my inbox. Like, the day of. And a part of me was just, like, staring at Jocelyn, wondering how the commenter made that connection, lol.

I’ve been, shall we say, overly cautious since then. I really want to increase the representation of POCs and portray them correctly, but I’m also well aware that, as a white lady, to some people I’m racist no matter what I do. Plus, y’know...I wanna do it right. I lack many friends and the majority of the ones I have are either also white or simply don’t talk about their culture, so my frame of references is almost zero. I have to google a lot. ^^;;
