Gucci Holmes | Parker | Dropped
“You’re probably right. I’ll let it go this time.”
“I think it’d be best for us to move on.”
“Oh, but I don’t understand what qualifies as right so how can I know how to qualify wrong?” She shook her head in defiance. “You, sir, are going to have to elaborate.”
“The way that isn’t right,” he decided after a skeptic moment of silence.
“Which way is the wrong way?”
“Nope, sorry Parker. Have to have ‘A’s’ in order to reach my secret vault.”
“Do not take that the wrong way.”
“Well we didn’t get ‘report cards’, not the kind with letter grades. But I did pass all the tests,” she chuckled. “And I can do a great macarena.”
“All ‘A’s’ on their report cards and the macarena.”
“Oooh now that sounds like fun! What would one have to do to earn very top secret clearance?”
“In my secret vault. Very top secret.”
“Liar! I think you’re full of it. Where is this certificate, hmmm?” She held out her hands.
“I have to agree with you there.” He slipped his phone into his pocket.
“It is a natural thing. It has to be. Think about it. You cannot learn this much awesome. Actually, when I was born, I received a certificate for most awesome baby. True story.”
“I’m sure you can’t help it. I mean I am pretty awesome.” She grinned and kissed his cheek. “Buuuuut enough about how awesome I am! You’re pretty awesome too. What makes you so awesome, Owen?”
He heartily laughed as Parker pounced on him and returned the hug with his phone in hand. “God, I love you, Parker!” he chuckled again.
Parker wrinkled her nose and gave a lopsided grin to the camera. Once the picture was taken, she jumped on him in a hug. “Owen, you’re ridiculous and that is fantastic!”
“That might work!” He received his phone and turned on the camera. An indescribable, amusing face was made and he made rabbit ears with his fingers behind her fiery hair as he held the camera for a picture.
Laughing, she poked his cheek. “No one will believe you! We’ll just have to take a picture for posterity’s sake. Would you like this back?” She held his phone out.
“If only I had that purse! Then I’d have paper and a pen and ask you for your autograph. Who will believe me when I say Parker called me to her rescue because she had nightmares?”
“I will love it now!” She held it up with a grin and kissed it before sliding it into her pocket. “However, yours is going to be worth more now that it’s going to have my number.” Before adding her number she took a quick picture of herself with her tongue out.
“Okay, I will get right on that. And great, you’ll love it now; it has been in my hands.” Smiling, he handed the phone back to Parker. “Here,” he pulled out his phone. “Put yours in.”
“Ooooo! You should! You look so handsome carrying around your purple handbag!” She shrugged. ”I like it well enough. It let’s me call people and let’s people call me.”
“Perhaps I will buy a purse to put such utensils in. It will be purple with a snake skin look. Gucci.”
“Do you like it so far?” he asked, dialing in his contact information.
“Of course silly pants! Though I think you should start carrying around a notepad and pen. You never know what you might need.” She laughed and handed him her phone. “It’s fairly new, actually.”
“Fair enough. Do you have your phone? I don’t carry around paper and pens with me.” He smiled.
“You definitely should give me your number and you definitelyshouldn’t worry about Trip kicking your ass. He pretty much stays out of things unless someone happens to cause me pain. Then he’s pretty good about playing the big brother role.”
“He is close enough to you to be considered your brother and kick my ass. He is quite protective.”
“I agree. Especially if I give it to you right now.”
“My brother? Oooh you mean Trip, right? He’s not technically my brother, but I guess he kind of is in a way.”
“And for the record, not having your number is just a minor set back that is easily overcome.”
“As long as your brother doesn’t kick my ass, I’m there.”
“It might help if you had my number.”
“It is not! And If I can’t sleep tonight I’m calling you! You’ll have to sit up with me all night.” She stuck her tongue out at him.
“Hey, it is a completely valid idea. You can’t automatically assume it was Trip.”
“Sssssshhhhhh! OWEN! That’s not okay! I’m not going to sleep well, and it’s all your fault.” She crossed her arms and pouted playfully.
“But I like Smurfs. They’re so smurfy…”
“Eh, he isn’t so bad. He just takes children into the sewer system and turns into a creepy, giant spider and eats them. No big deal.”
“If it was a clown pouring blood, it must have killed few smurfs.”
“Still that’s a really creepy thought, Owen. I might not ever take another shower again… At least not until I make someone check for evil clowns.”
It was better not to comment on the mental image of a naked Parker.
“Maybe it was It the Clown pouring blood from your faucet, and you’re the only one who could see it?”
“Parker Holmes…”
“Oh you! It didn’t take a lot of detective skills. I left the shower running to grab something. The colored water was a dead giveaway.”
“Excellent eye, my friend. Maybe you should be a detective. Parker Holmes.”
“Soon. And yes you may. He tried to stain my person with kool-aid, but I caught on before it worked.”
“That sounds fun.”
“When? Why, if I may ask?”
“Weeeell… I’m not quite sure what I want to do. I was thinking of maybe saran-wrapping Trip into his bed.” She laughed. “He’s a really heavy sleeper.”
“Ooh, mischief. Do tell me your secrets.”
“Oh you knoooow, pretty good. I’m just plotting my revenge.”
“I am fantastic, if I must say so myself.”
“And yourself?”
“Noooope. How are you?”
“Can’t argue with everything.”
“Aw, thanks Owen! You’re pretty stunning yourself.”
“You look stunning, Parker.”
“Is there something you want to say, Owen?” She chuckled.
