CRA(C)KING IPA FROM ITALY!
My strict rule of drinking only local ales is paying off here in Milan. Local in terms of country rather than city. As I tried most, if not all of the IPAS and DIPAS from Birrificio Lambrate headquartered in downtown Milan, the staff at the Hops Beer Shop in Via Montebello 14 (http://www.hopsbeershop.com/) suggested I should move back to my roots, beer-tasting wise. And that means Veneto, the region where I am proudly originally from, being born in Cortina and being raised in Treviso.
The selected Venetian creation was GIANT STEP Campodarsego’s (a small town in the outskirt of super posh Padua) based CRAK BREWERY, independent craft brewery established in 2015 which has already won the Birrificio dell'Anno 2018 award (best craft brewery).
Bottled on April 6th, GIANT STEP is CRAK BREWERY’s latest creation: 7.5% of a blissful blend of barley malt and hops, beautifully crafted to create the perfect IPA taste. Strong and beautiful, GIANT STEP reaches its height when drank directly from the can and a bit chilled, but not frozen. Unfiltered and unpasteurised, GIANT STEP has reached the top of my chart for BEST ITALIAN IPA!
