Hmmmmmm... This is an interesting one that I had to think about a little. A+!
It’s been a long time since Cullen went from being a soldier to being a firefighter. He gets caught up in a lot of the initial chaos on the job, and he almost gets bitten several times by people he’s trying to give medical aid.
He loses a few buddies that way before dispatch finally abandons their posts and the Fereldan National Guard tries to eradicate the threat. Cullen does what he can to help.
Once it’s clear they’re fighting a losing battle, he decides to pick up his siblings and their families and head for the Frostbacks. They figure the cold and altitude will be safer. His nightmares get worse.
He meets Belle when he sees her killing a zombie in the canned food section of a rural supermarket. She points a gun at him. She looks like she’s seen some shit.
The family decides to take her along because she can clearly hold her own. Close quarters, post-apocalyptic romance ensues.
They make it to the Frostbacks without losing anyone from the family, though a few of the people who decided to tag along do get killed.
They find an abandoned military compound in the Frostbacks, get everything up and running Last of Us style, and try to learn to live again.
