I’m still thinking about Andreil guideverse. Andrew as a guide because tit-for-tat deals is how he makes people stay instead of relying on relationships. He is a guide. He has something to offer you. Ergo you stay with him. It’s so much like his deals in my brain. I can’t stop thinking about it. Andrew and Aaron both as guides for the Drake Threat of it all. Or them as an esper and guide twin duo which gives Andrew something to make Aaron stay. Guide Andrew and his background in sexual abuse because guide trafficking or taking advantage of guides is a common thing used in guideverse, often along with as an allegory for sexual abuse.
And don’t get me started on esper Neil. He wants to stay hidden but he Literally Can’t. If he doesn’t get guiding he’ll blow up and destroy a bunch of shit and die.

i dont actually know a lot about how esper powers work (aside from the blowing up stuff) like the one guide / sentinel fic i read had the sentinel have extremely good senses to a damaging degree (and the guide could basically turn them down / off until they were manageable) which i think would be so interesting for neil...like mary who is a guide but often refuses do it until neil is Literally about to explode because his powers are too useful while on the run...and then mary dying and neil is Barely holding on and he knows he needs a guide but he can't stomach being that vulnerable / reliant on someone who isnt mary...
the only scene i rlly have living in my head is the move from andrew guiding neil w/ like utilitarian + platonic touches to trusting each other enough that sex is on the table. like i have a lot of thoughts about how the sex could look in this au (no surprises here im sure) but i'd have to do a ton more research if i were to write this au so idk if it'll ever happen but!! still very down to talk about it with u i think guideverse is so fun ^-^
