The path of utter destruction! A powerhouse that is not to be reckoned with! Okuu sold her soul, and pretty everything he had, for more power! Unfortunately, she had to pawn off her mobility as well. :L
But it doesn’t matter! With her screen-clearing bullets and specials, Okuu can easily deny the opponent the ability to zone her out, while doing a bit of damage in the process. Her bullets have excellent utility as well, from a launching combo starter to a slow-moving shield, to a “satellite” that orbits her and protects her.
Despite this, they do great damage.
Her melee, however, may be even better. They high-damaging strikes may be relatively slow to come out, but do amazing damage and easily set up some of the most damaging combos in the game for little to no meter at all. She even has two of the game’s best anti-airs, a quick kick that hits up and next to her, and far-reaching, launching cape strike, which is AIR UNBLOCKABLE.
With damage that’s through the roof and an attack for just about any situation, what’s not to love about her?
A great deal, unfortunately. Her movement is unequivocally the worst in the game, with slow, lumbering dashes and the slowest walk speed of all.
Furthermore, all of her options require tight spacing to use, and she herself has a tough time getting into these spaces. A good Okuu player needs to predict where the opponent will go next, and use the corresponding devastating technique. Otherwise, her attacks, which are almost all horribly unsafe, are easily read and punished. You can’t play Okuu to react to the opponent, she’s simply too slow. She also has trouble dealing with characters that stay just outside her melee range, close enough to punish her mistakes, but far enough that they can’t be severely damaged. She also has no invincible reversals aside from supers.
