for me specifically
I feel like Guilt Machine as a whole doesn't get enough attention, but this really is an excellent Leonard Cohen cover
old (recluse) arjen anthony lucassen sketches because i can. he loves the interwebs !!!!! be nice to him if i found out someone broke his fragile heart i will hunt down the criminal and do really horrible things to them its gonna be hell for them...
hey, i don’t even really need to say this bc i think everyone following me is a genuinely Good Person but pls don’t harass that person who reblogged my post!!!!!! at the end of the day this is all Meaningless and the first step to a brighter world is through positive interactions and explanations
anyway i literally dont think this applies to anyone who follows me/reblogs that post/has seen it, but i felt morally responsible to say something before anything happened
Constantly thinking about how Arjen had 32432964 cats and 2 horses and a few amount of chickens and a fucking Peacock???*. wtf cottagecore musician!!
*i dont remember if there was a peacock or not that might just be my brain making up fake infos

Guilt Machine - On this perfect day ( 2007 )
its not even 2026 but i dont care i want to start a new album year i am so bored.
anyways, big fan of ayreon and star one, big big fan, love their stuff alot.
imagine my surprise when i realise that arjen lucassen - that crazy musical genius bastard - made yet ANOTHER side project that i didn't know about until now.
one of the songs from this project came to me through spotify shuffle and i just assumed it was a similar sounding band but i started to slowly realise that nah.... nah it's too similar.... the instrumentals and structure and vocals are just too similar.... then i look it up and realise that - holy shit - its more arjen stuff to go insane over!!
and as far as i know, there's only one album under this name - "On this perfect day" which was released in 2007.
And let me tell ya, it's great. It's much more gloomy and sad(?) than his other stuff, will definetly need to relisten to this some time soon and this time actually pay attention to the lyrics, because just from the vibe and atmosphere alone, i sense that its a more personal/less fantasy/narative-oriented album than the usual and i am very interested in digging my claws into that.
It's so gloomy, so dark, more stretched-out and ELONGATED, even though the tracks are as long as im used to ( 5 to 10 minutes ), it just feels sadder and more frustrated, pefect vent music.
But the last track "Perfection?" kind of breathes in some new hope, and abruptly ends. Love that, honestly. And the bonus track is also such a nice refresher with a more poetry-focused direction.
Love this shit!!! Will def check it out again some time soon.
Current favourite tracks: oh shit just checked and i've saved all 7 of them LMAO ok then uhhhhh i dont know theyre all good
