Didn't care for her whole album, but this song was my joint. I swear it pops into my head every other week. (Well, the first line of the chorus does, anyway...lol.) I can't explain it, but I just "connected" with this song the first time I heard it. Not because I've gone through any of the things that she's talking about in the song. But, I think I identified with the song's overall theme...that feeling of "struggle"...of reflecting on life and seeing the mistakes you've made...of wanting to change yourself for the better.
(Did she say her "baby daddy" hit her mom with a metal pan, tho?! The hellllllll??)

This is one of those songs that seems to always be playing whenever I'm shopping...lol. But truth be told, I've liked this song ever since I was a kid. Especially now that I'm married...LOL.

Yo, I'm sooooooo mad that I like this song as much as I do. I don't know why...I just am.
I'm not gonna lie...what initially "hooked" me to this song was...well...the hook...lol. Wanz channelin' Nate Dogg...
I don't necessarily care for Macklemore's voice...but his flow is decent (on this song, anyway). The lyrics are comical, and damn if the beat/sax loop aren't infectious. Love that instrumental little snippet at the intro...sounds totally 80's old school rap.

Guilty Pleasures Week
BIRTHDAY!!!!!
OK, so my actual birthday isn't until Thursday...but I figure this week is the perfect time to share some songs that are on my "guilty pleasures" list.
We all have that list. You know...those songs that stray away from what you usually like. Genre be damned! Those songs that make your friends say, "You?...like THAT?!". Sometimes the lyrics are questionable...or the artist can't sing...or the beat is whack. Songs that are earworms. Annoying the crap out of you until you reluctantly submit to its catchiness. Many times, it might even be by an artist that you don't like at all. How dare they make that ONE GOOD SONG that you love to jam to in private?! LOL
If you're like me, as soon as that song comes on...you debate whether or not to change the station. Head nodding while you contemplate the decision...totally mad at yourself for liking the song so damn much...smh/lol.
