Very dramatic. Thick hair (I can relate) and great at framing her eyes, because of lack of colour or definition. 

Positioning makes great lighting effects. 

And colour makes it stick out in heavily shaded scenes like this. 

It’s good. I like it. 7/10

What happend to Subaru in this episode :/? He has been so Nice since the begining, why did he behave like that?

Well, you have to consider two things regarding Subaru’s behavior in this episode:

1) Subaru has gone through A LOT. His perspective on everything that’s going on is very different from all the other characters’ because he has seen how ugly and dangerous this world can be. He’s died countless of times, making him very jumpy and extremely paranoid about everything around him (hence why he was so concerned for Emilia and wanted to stick with her). Not only that, but romantic feelings aside, Emilia means a lot to Subaru because, as he said, she’s the one who helped him when he first arrived in this world. Since Emilia doesn’t remember any of that, to her Subaru is just a stranger who seems to be obsessed with her. Episode 8 already showed how Subaru’s ‘genki’ attitude is actually an act. Not only is it a defense mechanism, but it’s also sign of how he keeps believing he’s the MC of a fun, generic fantasy anime. Except Re:Zero isn’t exactly that.

2) Subaru was never 100% sane to begin with. He’s always been very obnoxious and needy. His obsession with saving everyone comes from his desperation to be accepted and not be abandoned. Subaru was a NEET back in his world and he lived on his own, so we can assume that he was very lonely. Since he got a new start (re:zero) in this world, he wants to actually change and choose his own fate, especially since he feels he’s obliged to save everyone because he’s been “blessed” with the ability to respawn. Also, Subaru is just desperately trying to change because he’s very insecure. He’s actually shown signs of low self-esteem and self-hatred before.

This is one of the lowest points for Subaru in the story. You are supposed to feel annoyed/disturbed by the things he’s done. He needed this reality check.
