New Species Added: Bowmouth Guitarfish
It's been a while since we've had a new fish species, and this spectacular friend was chosen by our Patreon supporters as the next priority species for the site.
Bowmouth guitarfish are cartilaginous fish, specifically, a species of ray!
Check out his size compared to the silhouettes of people in the photos - he's upwards of six feet long.
Just like other species of ray, bowmouth guitarfish have plates of teeth that grind up their hard-shelled prey.. but their mouth is wavy, instead of a single flat plate?? It's incredible.
As always, more bowmouth guitarfish at the page on the site!
