Take a BUS to Penarth Pier TOMORROW!!!

Remember my article on travelling to Barry Island by taking Bus No.95?

Now set up you plan to take a trip to Penarth Pier this summer with Cardiffbus special 91 Sunday service from tomorrow! GUL

From June 1 until September 28, hop onboard the 91 from JQ stand on Wood Street to Penarth's popular seafront, also known as "The Garden by the Sea"

Penarth Pier Pavilion now glistens and shines above the gentle waves of the Bristol Channel lapping the fossil-rich pebbled beach. The Pavilion now boasts a small cinema, an art exhibition and a cafe serving food and drink daily with spectacular views.   

Tread the boardwalks of the pier for a more traditional seaside meal of fish and chips, or treat yourself to an ice cream. Watch the tide come and go and take a peep at fishermen’s catch of the day from the benches dotted along the pier. A small independent sweet shop full of character is a hidden gem at the entrance gate.

Stroll along the esplanade up to the ‘clifftops’ for more amazing views across the channel where you’ll be able to see Steep Holm and Flat Holm Islands. On a clear day you’ll also be able to make out Weston-Super-Mare in the distance.

Normal Cardiff Bus fares apply for this service, so show your day-to-go if you’re connecting from elsewhere in the city.

TITAN the Robot - the biggest entertainer on earth! 8ft of robotic street theatre, comedy, music and fantastic family fun. Titan was seen in the Big Brother house and on stage with Will.i.am, Rihanna and Will Smith. And, now, he’s making a very special appearance on the Quayside at Mermaid Quay. 12 noon to 4pm.

HMS Dragon Ceremony and City Parade ON SUNDAY!!!

EXTRA! EXTRA! GUL!!!

Many of you might have seen HMS Dragon has docked in Cardiff Bay. Her Majesty’s Ship Dragon is to be given the Freedom of the City of Cardiff in a ceremony at City Hall this weekend.

The ceremony of HMS Dragon will take place at 11am on Sunday (18th of May) with music from the Royal Marines Band from 10.45am. This will then be followed by a Freedom Parade through the city.
