"Why, you're a new character around here! Unless, that is, you've just been lurking in the shadows like most crooks and criminals and I've just managed to find you..."
Well, I do enjoy a good lurk now and again! I’m actually more on the heroic sode though!
@gummy-guy liked x for a starter!
She knew she shouldn’t be scared but probably it was just instinct. Young looking girl, wandering around a city at night in the dark... Even if it wasn’t quite that simple, it still felt like a place she shouldn’t be alone.
But still she knew she shouldn’t be scared. Heroes didn’t get scared and it’s not like she could get hurt or anything. Not really.
Maybe what she was really afraid of was being found out. Being laughed at. What an amateur, they’d say, whoever ‘they’ was supposed to be. Criminals, she supposed. Between breaking her kneecaps and laughing at her face, she knew which one she’d prefer.
The kneecaps would heal. Her pride, however, so fragile.
The girl pulled her jacket closer, a hand groping at her pocket for her taser, patting it like she was afraid it’d disappear. She wasn’t looking vulnerable on purpose but it was working. She knew she was being followed by at least three guys. Could hear their footsteps scuffling, their muffled laughter.
Time was running out, her moment of reckoning closing in. There was no putting this off or backing out this time.
She was either going to be a hero or seriously screw up.
