HAPPY BIRTHDAY PHOENIX WRIGHT!!!!!
someone had to alr make it but that is literally rise from the ashes
i'm very proud of the core skills for Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy being what they are. i think this is a key pillar in what makes Eureka an actually good investigation game. Other TTRPGs that try to do "investigation" gameplay usually have way too many skills, spreading characters way too thin to be effective, or making them effective at two or three things that are just not going to come up in the current mystery. By giving characters a strictly defined and core set of skills that is in-sync with the idea of "investigation" that the game has, and using a 2D6 system where even a +0 or even -1 or -2 can regularly turn up some success in those areas, it's very hard to make a useless character no matter the mystery.

today marks exactly 5 years since i played ace attorney for the first time!
this franchise is so close to my heart, and not to be sappy or cliché, but i genuinely don't know where i would be if i hadn't discovered it. it's had such a huge impact on the trajectory of my life, and i look forward to enjoying the games for many more years to come (and hopefully ace attorney 7 is announced before my 10 year anniversary 🥲)
if you want to check out the speedpaint and lineart, it's under the cut!
