CharZaku-kun
Hey look, we finally got a second one! I kinda prefer these proportions to standard SD ones. It just actually feels properly super deformed. Also, unlike its predecessor, this one is standard plastic and not Ecopla. While that was nice, and I wouldn't have minded this one being one as well, it does mean there are quite a few differences between the two of them, but we'll get to them.
The Good: We'll start with posability, because it's mostly the same and expected. Neck swivel, balled arms and legs with limited movement, but this one also adds a waist joint and the eye. From a build perspective, it's very simple, but you can display it as a little guy or on its faux runner.
Speaking of that frame, one of the disadvantages of Ecopla is that they recommended not to swap between displays because of the fragility of the material, but because this is standard Gunpla plastic it's perfectly fine to take it apart and swap things around. It also just feels better and is a bit more solid because of it.
The Bad: Nope. My only issue with the original came from its materials. It's just what you see is what you get.
The Details: For this one I used a panel liner, and black and red paint.
I panel lined all the details for starters, and then added black to the hands, elbow joints, front and back of the knees, and to the backpack to emulate the art on the box and some of the sample pictures. While it looks good, it would have been better if I'd had the grey from the chest and feet on hand. I also used black to fill the rifle and bazooka. Lastly, I painted the edge of the Heat Hawk red to emulate its heated state.
Overall, it's very cute, and a step up from the original, but it's also exactly what it looks like. If you're like me and the meta nature of this kit tickles your fancy, then you'll probably like it, but if you're looking for a good or complex build, then maybe check out a different kit.
