Knife prices are all subjective much in the same way firearms are. Name brands and materials used always carry higher prices. That's why DPMS Panthers are $750 versus Knights Armament SR-25's for $4,500.I personally wouldn't spend over $100 on a knife, but I'm not a knife guy. However I don't think it's fair to call the buyer a moron because it is their money.

No no, I understand and agree that name and materials make a huge difference in price. I come from a practical standpoint and anything and everything has a price ceiling before becoming foolish. 

I love knives, flashlights and guns, but would never sink that kind of money into one even if I was wealthy. You can get REALLY amazing knives for under $200 and superb AR’s for $800-1,500, so justifying astronomical figures is kind of hard.

That said, a person can do whatever they want with their money... even if it’s dumb.

It's already been explained many times before. The German government restrictions on exporting military style arms, paired with the U.S government's importation of firearms per BATFE requirements and regulations makes it difficult. The old tired rhetoric that "HK hates you!" is largely fueled by the lack of understanding what obstacles exist in order for them to bring a military style firearm into the U.S.

I understand the import regulations and the bastardization required in order to do so, hence the SL8 from HK and the whole Saiga blasphemy.

However, I thought HK had a US factory which would allow them to manufacture the weapons we want here and avoid all the import crap.

Its been a while since I’ve looked into HK and their affairs. I once wanted to do an SL8 conversion but became disheartened after finding cost vs authenticity.

That Glock's grip is Trex Arms custom "stippling" job, or I guess "battlefield pick up". Considering the company's name, it's fitting and it still looks better than a lot of the home stippling jobs you see online.

The rifles in the photo of the Indian soldiers on the camels, is actually an INSAS, a domestically produced rifle. It has a very FAL-like silhouette but incorporates features of the AK, G3 and AR-15 in its design.

Ah, yeah. I'd forgotten.

I thought they were an earlier model of FAL, like for ceremonial purposes.

I haven't seen or heard of a Glock 17L Gen 4. I'm aware that the 17L and it's counterpart the 24 were made in small batches per year, but why hasn't Glock moved them to the Gen 4 family?

Honestly I’m not sure why they haven’t, probably lack of popularity. I’ve just heard from two or three Glock reps that the 17L and 24 are still being produced, just in limited numbers and only every couple years, just like the tan and OD Glocks

It will require NFA paperwork since it is classified as an AOW. I don't know how much different in paperwork there is between an AOW vs a Destructive Device

Got it. I didn't know what it was classified as. It probably won't have a lot of paperwork since it was manufactured to be an AOW.

The IDF doesn't get to claim self-defense against Palestinians when Israelis invaded and occupied Palestine. They can claim that they're engaging in a war for the preservation of their state, ethical issues of that aside, but they don't get to claim that they're defending themselves when they're the aggressor.

Palestinians are pretty obviously the ones on the defensive.
