I have a theory that if you ran numbers on people who die at 90, 91,92, etc you'd probably find an abnormally high number of people who die at 99 compared to similar ages. It really seems like a lot of people die just before hitting 100.
I’m actually curious to see the numbers on people who die within 6 months of turning 80, 90, 100, etc compared to the rest of the decade. Some people just hold on to hit a milestone and then give up, knowing no matter how hard they fight they’ll never see the next one.
