NEEDING GUNS IS AN AMERICAN MENTAL HEALTH ISSUE In response to the ongoing sacrifice of children to American gun culture I suggested removing guns. This reply from X says it all. I’m afraid this is the real mental health issue afflicting America today: an epidemic of fear that holds guns to be a form of security. I am angry. And, breathing, I remember that these millions upon millions who are so afraid they will sacrifice children to hang onto their guns are, indeed, mentally ill. They need our compassion. And, they need to be relieved of their weapons of childhood destruction. ps.
