@ person who asked abt stupid: it’s specifically / primarily a slur against people with intellectual, cognitive, and developmental disabilities, as well as people with speech-language issues (particularly d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing people). Please learn the histories of words before ridiculing the specific tag.
It has an extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) long history as a violently ableist term, and I challenge you to think about what you’re using it to mean, considering the association of it is inherently about academic intelligence (a classist, ableist, and racist concept, amongst other things). I’ll be genuinely shocked if you aren’t even somewhat aware of that fact.
Same can be said for: dumb, idiot, moron, halfwit, etc. Just because you’re not aware of it doesn’t make it any less of an issue; it’s tagged because other people have requested it to be because of this. You’re not going to somehow bust in and go “nah” and that’s going to change. At the very least, respect people’s triggers, holy shit.
