The Eastern Spiny Gurnard
Scientific Name: Lepidotrigla pleuracanthica
Region: Ocean Waters surrounding Australia
Size: About 7.9" (20cm) long
Interesting Notes: Like their other fellow gurnards, though they appear to effortlessly glide across the ocean floor from above, with a low enough camera, you can see these interesting fish actually "crawl" using a set of spines protruding from the base of their pectoral fins, as visible in the video taken by Dariusz Wakulinski below.
