This time: Gustav and Fritz.
Gustav is Anna Sofia’s adopted son. His right eye is damaged because he was abused by his actual parents when he was younger and he later loses an arm in WWI.
Which is shortly after he meets Fritz.
Fritz, the... charming looking gentleman on the right, got drafted into the war just like Gustav - and when they meet it’s hatred at first sight. Charming Fritz greets Gustav with the phrase you see written below the picture.
They do accept each other eventually and even become friends.
Gustav, who has a love for painting, leaves Germany for America later on and ends up working in Hollywood as a set designer for the movie industry.
Fritz, who got into a huge fight with Gustav about his plans to leave, stays in Germany and dies in the 1930s.
