A unit of chaff / guttersnipes

Apparently, there were historical examples of muskets with scopes. So it was obvious to give it to those guys. However, in my mind, it's just hollow tubing without any lenses (they still need to be a horrible shots after all).

Can I get some suggestions for guttersnipes

while the Editor is of course in Grave Opposition to Criminality and can Humbly Recommend only the most Moral of Conduct, he can Suggest that any Ragamuffins, Urchins, &tc. in their Pursuit of a Good and Wholesome Living NOT partake in:

wearing Ill-Used but Charmingly Coloured & Arranged Vestments;

imposing upon the Kind Nature of Young Women;

skimming from the Rectory Collection under Pretense of Donation;

partaking Libations of Gin;

organizing into a Cabal of Three or Four Resourceful Young Persons for the purpose of Mutual Co-operation to Nefarious Ends;

visiting In Particular the Row-homes of Wealthy Persons during the Evening Fête, when Persistent Bustle and Business can cover many an Indiscretion.
